Over the last few months, we’ve had a lot of exciting changes! We have relocated to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia temporarily and I’m excited to finally have more time to explore and photograph this beautiful area and wildlife. The recent months have been busy - moving interstate, finalizing designs for our home renovation in Sydney and procuring materials for the build. We have been working on this project for quite some time with an architect/builder and I’m so excited to start to see it come to life! This process has made me think more about interior design and how artwork can complement and enhance a space. Last week I received some wonderful news!! I'm thrilled to share that my image titled Siglufjordur has earned 2nd Place in the Nature-Seasons category for the International Photography Awards 2023 and will be published in the IPA Annual Book of Photography. This image will also be considered for inclusion in the annual IPA Best of Show Curated Exhibition, which will open in New York City in October and shown around the world the following year. The selected images will be announced in two weeks time. The pool of imagery is impressive, so my expectations to be selected are low, but I feel honored and grateful to be considered. In addition, one of my wildlife images titled Determined earned an Honorable Mention in the Nature-Wildlife category and my third image, The Feast made it to the final round of judging and earned the title Official Selection. Overall, we're making steady progress both personally and professionally. Next month, we are heading north to Wilson Island with the hopes to capture beautiful seascapes.
Hope all is well! Julie
